The Common Principles for Switching payment accounts

The Common Principles for Switching payment accounts have been designed by the European Banking Industry Committee (EBIC) and the process is available to the customers – private persons – since 2009.

These principles give a way for private persons to move their current accounts from one bank to another within Estonia. This includes also switching of payment services like regular payments. When someone wants to switch banks, the new bank undertakes the communication with the new bank.
